Improper use of mineral fertilizers in agriculture leads to the formation of salts of nitric acid in vegetables, so called. nitrates. After their adoption by the food, they turn into nitrites in the intestines, which are highly toxic and carcinogenic.

Most nitrates accumulate in the cabbage and green leafy plants. Therefore, before consuming them, you should take care to be well cleaned.

Foods with the highest content of nitrate and radioactive substances:
potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, beets, carrots, strawberries, raspberries.

What to do?
• When cooking vegetable dishes is better to peel vegetables in advance and it deeper (peel carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, etc.).
• All vegetables and leafy crops that you use for salads must be soaked for 20-30 minutes in cold water with 3 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice
• Before eating cabbage or lettuce, remove at least two rows of their upper layer
• When cooking vegetables, the content of nitrates reduced to 80%, and in canning, pickling or preparing them in pickles – up to 60% (they pass in the marinade)
• Do not eat or wilted long stayed fruits and vegetables
• Before you cook the meat, you can soak in cold water with salt for about 10-15 minutes
• In winter, it is preferable consumption of frozen fruits and vegetables to canned
• seasoning salads with lemon. It prevents the conversion of nitrates into nitrites
• Do not buy immature fruits and vegetables (such as pumpkin)

Signs of nitrate poisoning:

• Nausea and vomiting
• Abdominal pain
• Skin rash, itching, redness
• Headache and dizziness
• disturbances in vision

Methionine is necessary for the discharge of radioactive substances from the body and is obtained from curd, meat, fish, eggs and algae. The food we eat should be varied and include enough natural vitamins that have an anti-radiation effect and increase immunity (hips, parsley, citrus fruits, seeds, peas, nuts, etc.). Intake of freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices (apple, pears, plums, cherries, grapes and lemons) also helps remove toxins faster.
